Meet Our Crew
Joe & Heidi Schmidt
Co-Owners
Joe is a second-generation painter. He's grown up with a paintbrush in one hand and a rope in the other. Joe is a North Dakota original and enjoys spending his time with his wife, daughter, fishing, hunting, and traveling to rodeos.
Heidi operates Miracle Ear in Dickinson, ND. Heidi is also a ND original and enjoys spending her time with their daughter, fishing and camping, and barrel racing. Heidi is also a respected board member for the WPRA.
Joe and Heidi have created a dedicated team to satisfy customer's needs. The crew understand that whether it is a residential or commercial job, the job must be completed with precision, care, and professionalism.
AJ Stanley
Project Manager/Crew Lead
AJ is our Project Manager and Crew Lead. AJ has been working with Western Edge for three years. AJ has become our trusted crew lead who creates a positive working environment. AJ does well creating an efficient work environment using the checklist for the crew to follow to seamlessly move into the next assignment on the list. AJ strengths are in knowing every piece of the process and teaching it to others and creating strong relationships with the rest of the crew.
When AJ is not working he enjoys his time with his wife and young son. He is involved in softball, kickball, volleyball, pool, and any other sporting event he can!
Baelee Karey
Marketing/Office Manager
Baelee has always loved painting whether it was the white picket fence growing up, her bedroom, or her current home, Baelee loves the way a fresh coat of paint can truly make a home or business, yours.
Baelee is originally from Buffalo, SD but has called Dickinson home since 2015. Baelee and her husband are raising their three sons and three dogs in the heart of Dickinson. She continues coaching middle school cross country, and she will hit her milestone of 10 years coaching in Fall 2024.
In her free time, Baelee enjoys reading, playing with her family, running and lifting, hunting and fishing, making s'mores, competing in mud runs, softball, kickball, and yes....even painting her own home.
Baelee's goal for WE Paint is to learn the science behind painting and staining.
Bryant M.
Crew Member/Painter
Bryant is a new crew member to WE Paint but is not new to painting. Bryant brings with him 6 years of painting experience. He enjoys masking before spraying, cutting, and rolling. His hobbies include playing video games, playing softball, and enjoying time with his wife new baby boy and their 2 dogs and 4 cats. Bryant comes to us from Casper, Wyoming and joined the Army in 2016.

Bryant's trick of the trade: "When masking, keep the tape tight and press it down on the edge closest to what is being painted."
Luke M.
Crew Member/Painter
Luke Mavity has been a part of the seasonal crew for WE for a few years. Luke brings hard work and grit to the team. Luke is fast, effective, and is not afraid of the top of the ladder. Luke is attending Black Hills State University and rodeos for the Yellow Jackets. Luke enjoys attending rodeos during the summer as well and hanging out with his friends and family.
WE has been fortunate to have Luke as a returning employee through the seasons.
